Expand your practitioner-scholar network and connect with friends on September 7th in Tampa, Florida for the Engaged Management Scholarship (EMS) Alumni Consortium.
The EMS 2017 Alumni Consortium is the perfect way to network and engage the executive doctorate community to explore problems, learn about publishing, consider non-corporate roles, and develop your doctorate degree backstory. The Alumni Consortium will take place at the Muma College of Business, University of South Florida on September 7, 2017.
We have a full day planned on September 7th including a networking reception and intimate networking group dinners.
Here’s what we have planned
Collaborate with peers in a friendly and supportive environment to develop your research interest or get feedback on papers.
Publish as practitioner
Hear from others about self-publishing, writing case studies, and journal alternatives focused on practitioners.
Non corporate career paths
Thinking about a career change? Explore the trials and joys of work in academia, as a volunteer, consultant, or start up.
Develop your backstory
Learn how your peers and help new graduates answer the awkward question, “So you have your doctorate, when are you quitting?” and “I guess you want to teach?”
So what’s there to do in Tampa besides EMS 2017?
Tampa is located in central Florida and is a major tourist destination. Tampa is just minutes from many of the world’s top beaches and provides an easy launch point to Florida’s world famous amusement parks including: Busch Gardens, Disney World, Universal Studios Florida, and Sea World. Amusement parks not your thing? No problem, you have other options like the Florida Aquarium and Dali Museum in the area. And, speaking of launch points, NASA is located in Cape Canaveral not too far from Tampa. Looking for a more adult evening – head out to Ybor City for dining and nightlife.
